Job Description:

We are working with a client who is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to assist their team on a contract basis in Burnsville, Minnesota. This role requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in human resources management. This individual will play a key part in advising leadership on HR best practices, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and contributing to the development of effective workplace policies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide expert guidance on human resources management across various disciplines, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Review and offer recommendations on the Employee Handbook to maintain compliance and reflect best practices
  • Ensure adherence to Minnesota employment laws, including pay transparency regulations and the Paid Family Medical Leave Act
  • Evaluate IT and cybersecurity policies, advising on improvements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with leadership to address HR-related inquiries and implement effective practices
  • Offer insights and strategies for managing unionized workforces, if applicable
  • Work independently while maintaining effective collaboration in a dynamic work environment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders to drive HR initiatives

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management
  • In-depth knowledge of Minnesota employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in reviewing and developing administrative policies and employee handbooks
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity policies and best practices
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to team efforts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have:

Experience with unionized workforces is a plus
