We have an exciting opportunity for two Human Resources Consultants to join a WA State Government Department! 3 month contract with ASAP start $60–$70/hour + super Based in East Perth About the role: This position partners with divisional areas to provide human resource consultancy, advice and support on a wide range of people management issues. The position contributes significantly to the development, implementation and evaluation of workforce management programs, policies and initiatives to achieve strategic objectives.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing consultancy, support and guidance to managers and staff on a wide variety of HR matters including recruitment, workforce planning and management, change management, performance, conflict resolution, grievances, discipline and substandard performance
  • Coordinating the redeployment and redundancy process to meet legislative, policy and procedural requirements
  • Undertaking complex award interpretation across a range of industrial awards and agreements, and providing Employee/Industrial Relations advice to managers and staff
  • Assisting with policy development, implementation and evaluation
  • Coordinating human resources and organisational development projects and initiatives
  • Assisting with the preparation and analysis of workforce management data

Requirements

  • Considerable experience as a human resource business partner, providing a consultancy service on a broad range of human resources and workforce management functions
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of policies, legislation, awards and agreements and provision of high-level advice to management and staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence or negotiate with a range of stakeholders
  • Possession of, or progress towards, a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Government experience is preferred, but not essential
