Job Description

Our client, a mission driven nonprofit organization is seeking a HR Communications Specialist to join their team on a temporary basis with a strong potential to go permanent in Washington, D.C.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies, plans, and messaging for HR initiatives and organizational priorities
  • Draft and manage internal communications, including emails, SharePoint content, newsletters, toolkits, and leadership messaging
  • Partner with HR, Communications, and cross-functional teams to coordinate messaging, timelines, approvals, and delivery
  • Support change management and employee engagement efforts through effective communication planning
  • Track communication activities and outcomes to ensure consistency and continuous improvement
  • Create engaging, employee-focused communications that enhance the overall employee experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with communication strategy, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement
  • Understanding of HR concepts and the ability to communicate organizational changes effectively
  • Experience with change management, employee communications, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and project management tools such as Asana
  • Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills
