Job Description:

HR Casework Specialist required - six month interim requirement. A national role based across a number of offices in England, Wales and Scotland. This small public sector organisation provides essential services and operates across multiple offices in England, Wales and Scotland. The HR team plays a key role in supporting managers and employees across the organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a varied employee relations caseload including absence, performance, conduct, probation, grievance and end of fixed-term contract matters
  • Provide clear and practical HR advice to line managers throughout the casework process
  • Prepare and manage case documentation, including meeting invites, outcome letters and case summaries
  • Support or lead formal meetings and hearings where required
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner to prioritise cases and ensure consistent, compliant decision-making
  • Coach and support managers to build confidence in managing people issues
  • Mentor junior HR colleagues and contribute to strengthening HR casework capability within the team
  • Maintain accurate case records and support reporting on ER trends and risks
  • Contribute to HR policy and process improvements where appropriate

Requirements:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience with a strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong and demonstrable experience managing a wide range of employee relations casework in a UK context, including drafting professional HR correspondence and case documentation
  • Ability to provide clear, pragmatic and supportive HR advice to managers and employees
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships quickly
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency in HR systems and software
