Function & Scope: The HR Business Partner will be an advisor to leaders in all areas of the employee lifecycle. Key responsibilities include interpretation of policies, recruitment, performance management, attendance management, and labor relations. This role requires the ability to build credible and valued relationships through true partnership, to challenge and shape the thinking of our leaders and managers with energy, passion and pragmatism.
Job Responsibility
Conduct exit interviews for non-management employees
Creating HR Reports & Metrics
Maintains employee records and personnel files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
Processes employee terminations within the HRIS
Processes Personnel Action Forms within the HRIS
Creates new employee files within the HR server/HRIS
Assist leaders with attendance management program and compliance
Ensure disability management is tracked, and approval workflow is in place
Elevate questions on disability with leadership
Assist with accommodation requests on return to work
Manage requests for reimbursements related to leaves
Track grievances and prepare disciplinary letters as requested
Attend standing committee meetings as requested
Understand collective agreements and interpretations to provide guidance to leaders
Assist with investigations as required
Collaborate with the People and Organization (P&O) team to optimize current recruitment strategies
Sourcing and attracting candidates and coordinating interviews
Create and manage job postings internally and externally
Build partnerships with local schools, colleges and universities to develop a talent pipeline
Attend job fairs as required
Ensure time to fill positions is within standards set
Ensure we have a structured Onboarding plan with the hiring managers to ensure effective onboarding of all new hires including sign-off on policies
Ensures all new hire documents are received
Prepare and present recruitment statistics to identify trends and improve time-to-fill metrics.
Requirements
CPHR or CPHR Candidate Preferred
Experience working in a unionized setting with multiple collective agreements required
Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
3 – 4 years of HR Generalist experience
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
