The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a strategic and hands-on partner to operations leadership at Green Dot Labs' production facilities in Colorado. This role exists to provide embedded HR support in a fast-paced cultivation and manufacturing environment, helping leaders and employees navigate employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, and day-to-day HR execution. This is a highly visible role designed for someone who can balance practical HR support with long-term people partnership, while helping build scalable people practices aligned with business goals and company culture.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance management
Coach supervisors and managers on leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, documentation, and consistent policy application
Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and inclusion across assigned sites
Plan and deliver routine HR training on core processes, policies, and people-management practices
Support employee engagement activities, recognition efforts, and culture-building initiatives
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across Colorado, including leave administration, wage and hour, ADA, FMLA, and related employment requirements
Promote understanding of company policies through training, refreshers, and employee communications
Coordinate reporting and administration of workplace injuries and workers' compensation claims
Maintain accurate HR documentation, workflows, and site-level compliance processes
Execute onboarding administration for new hires, ensuring completion of required paperwork, checklists, and HRIS workflows
Oversee employment eligibility compliance, including E-Verify processing and related documentation
Track and manage site-specific credentialing requirements, including cannabis-industry and role-based compliance requirements
Maintain accurate HRIS records for employee lifecycle changes, including hires, terminations, pay changes, transfers, and status updates
Coordinate offboarding processes, including separation notices, benefits removals, and access deactivation
Partner with payroll to support accurate timekeeping, leave tracking, attendance-related documentation, and garnishment administration
Serve as the local point of contact for leave of absence requests, coordinating paperwork, vendor communication, and state-specific compliance requirements
Maintain HR SOPs, process documentation, and decision records to support consistency across sites
Maintain awareness of employment and workforce compliance requirements across Colorado
Track and coordinate required cannabis industry credentials, including Colorado MED badges
Partner with operations leadership to support readiness for audits, inspections, and renewals
Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly, technical, and management roles across assigned sites
Coordinate job postings, candidate pipelines, interview scheduling, and onboarding logistics
Partner with hiring managers to forecast staffing needs and support workforce planning
Provide input on corporate HR initiatives, policy updates, compensation reviews, and employee survey action planning
Ensure HR programs and processes are practical, scalable, and aligned with operational needs
Support organizational effectiveness as Green Dot Labs grows across markets
Requirements:
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Generalist, HRBP, or facility-based HR leadership experience
Strong knowledge of federal and Colorado employment law and HR compliance practices
Demonstrated experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance management
Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and core HR operations
Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and ability to manage confidential matters
Must have, or be eligible to obtain, required state-specific credentials, including a Colorado MED badge, as applicable
