We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner / Generalist to join our team in Kingston, Rhode Island. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in supporting managers and employees with HR advisory, operational needs, and compliance matters. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring adherence to HR policies and standards.
Job Responsibility:
Provide expert HR consultation and advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and employment-related concerns
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and staffing initiatives
Assist in creating and updating job descriptions, managing organizational changes, and overseeing position adjustments
Guide managers through performance management processes, including coaching on documentation and constructive feedback
Address compensation-related inquiries in partnership with central HR teams
Respond to employee relations matters, escalating complex cases as needed, and promoting equitable workplace practices
Support investigations by gathering relevant documentation and coordinating meetings as required
Assist in implementing organizational changes, restructuring efforts, and workforce adjustments with clear communication strategies
Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, federal and state employment laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)
Generate and analyze workforce data reports to identify trends and support decision-making
Requirements:
Proven experience in employee relations, HR administration, and performance management
Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws
Ability to conduct investigations and manage sensitive employee relations issues
Proficiency in HR systems, such as Workday, for reporting and data management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with managers and employees
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Experience supporting compensation and workforce planning initiatives
Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
