This contract position offers an opportunity to oversee the strategy, administration, and compliance of employee benefit programs within an organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in employee benefits, compliance, and team leadership, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
Job Responsibility:
Designing and managing comprehensive benefits plans, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other perks
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits
Evaluating benefits policies and recommending adjustments to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness
Managing relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators
Developing communication strategies to educate employees about available benefits and changes
Analyzing benefits usage data and trends to inform business decisions
Leading benefits enrollment periods and managing related processes
Addressing employee inquiries and resolving issues related to benefits
Collaborating with payroll, finance, and HR teams to align benefits programs with overall company goals
Staying updated on industry trends, legislation, and best practices in benefits management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field
Several years of progressive experience in HR benefits administration, with experience managing all leave type plans
In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing benefits, such as ERISA, FMLA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
Proficiency with HR and benefits management systems, vendor platforms, and data analysis tools
Workday HCM experience
Experience in evaluating, negotiating, and managing relationships with benefits vendors and brokers and workflows
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to educate employees and interface with executives
Ability to analyze benefits data, usage patterns, trends, and costs to make informed program decisions
High level of accuracy and organizational skills to manage compliance, reporting, and benefits documentation
Nice to have:
A master’s degree or relevant certifications (such as CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) are often preferred
