Job Description

The HR Assistant provides essential administrative support to the human resources department, helping facilitate HR processes and maintaining accurate employee records. This role supports hiring, onboarding, benefits, and general HR inquiries to ensure a positive employee experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with recruitment tasks, such as scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
  • maintain and update employee records and HR databases
  • support the onboarding and offboarding process for employees
  • respond to routine HR inquiries from staff and management
  • help coordinate employee benefits, training, and events
  • prepare HR documentation, reports, and correspondence as needed
  • ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all HR-related information

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • associate degree or HR certification preferred
  • previous administrative or HR experience is preferred
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR information systems

  • Maintain and update employee records, personnel files, and HR systems (BambooHR, Timetastic, Terry Berry), ensuring data accuracy and timely updates for starters, leavers, and internal changes
  • Support communication across the Group by managing internal platforms, responding to employee and manager queries, and promoting proactive engagement while escalating issues when necessary
  • Assist with drafting offer letters, contracts, and onboarding packs following approvals, and ensure right-to-work checks, background screening, and induction steps are completed before start dates
  • Coordinate and track key HR processes such as probation reviews, sickness and return-to-work documentation, appraisals, and exit interviews, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate record-keeping
  • Monitor employment legislation updates from ACAS and government sources, flagging relevant changes to the People Team and supporting compliance across the Group
