Our company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Assistant to support our Human Resources department in Birmingham, AL, on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, experience working in a fast-paced office environment, and a keen ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Job Responsibility:
Support daily HR operations, including maintaining employee records, processing HR documentation, and data entry
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes: preparing new hire packets, scheduling orientations, and supporting exit interviews
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner
Coordinate interview scheduling and communication between candidates, hiring managers, and recruiters
Help organize employee engagement activities and assist with HR projects as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws
Support payroll and benefits administration under the guidance of the HR Manager
Requirements:
Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role preferred
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
experience with HRIS systems a plus
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently
