A well-established company in Owensboro is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented HR Assistant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role focuses heavily on payroll support, union compliance, and administrative coordination.
Job Responsibility:
Review timecards for accuracy and compliance with union agreements in partnership with Trade Managers, Project Managers, and Special Project Managers
Verify local union information and classifications within the HRIS system
Assist with onboarding processes and perform accurate data entry for new hires
Maintain and update a weekly payroll issues log, coordinating with branch and corporate payroll
Update and manage confidential payroll records in accordance with company policies and employment laws
Provide general administrative support as needed
Requirements:
Previous administrative experience, preferably in payroll, HR, or union-related settings
High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and communication skills
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
