The HR Analyst - VCSA Resource Management is responsible for supporting the development and administration of human resources operations for VC Student Affairs service areas.
Job Responsibility:
Administers human resources and payroll for 100+ staff including career and limited type appointments
Day-to-day operations and administration of human resource services related to: staffing & recruitment
employee/labor relations
compensation & classification
leaves/FMLA, RIT & phased retirement
personnel/payroll & benefits
worker’s compensation
staff recognition & award programs
merit & wage implementations
development & training
human resource information systems
and record management
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations
demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills
Has working knowledge of other areas of HR
Experience managing a broad scope of complex personnel and related functions including recruitment selection, discipline, termination/layoff, collective bargaining agreements, employee relations, labor relations, performance appraisals, benefits administration, classification reviews, job description development, diversity, etc.
Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area
Demonstrated experience and success in interpreting, analyzing, advising on, and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations related to all facets of human resources administration
Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures
Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems
Demonstrated ability in utilizing technology resources and computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access), internet browsers
Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments
Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate ideas, thoughts, complex problems, policies and position statements to and with a wide range of personalities
Ability to convey accurate and correct information effectively through personal presentations and written material
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively
Strong portfolio of interpersonal skills with ability to interact with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion in use and communication of information at all times
Proven ability to act as a change agent using initiative and creativity to develop, anticipate and administer new procedures, processes and practices that recognize consistent and constant changing organizational needs
