Job Description

At BCLP, we’ve built our firm on the foundations of thinking differently. Curious, inquisitive and unbound by tradition, we’re building change within our sector and beyond. It starts with our people, which is why we need an HR Advisor to join our team.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with the HRBP to address general welfare and employee relations (ER) queries, ensuring individuals have clear information and access to appropriate support services
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on firm policies, HR processes, and employment legislation relevant to the region
  • Identify when complex issues require escalation or specialist input
  • Lead on day‑to‑day HR operational activity including contract changes, flexible working requests, joiner and leaver processes, and parental/family leave matters in partnership with the People Services Hub
  • Manage straightforward ER cases (e.g., basic performance matters, low‑level disciplinary and grievance issues), coaching managers to handle issues effectively
  • Support HRBP with more complex ER matters, restructures or reorganisations, and sensitive departures, including preparation of relevant documentation
  • Support regional performance review cycles, salary/bonus processes, promotion rounds, and moderation sessions
  • Help prepare and facilitate succession planning discussions and career development pathways across both fee‑earning and GBS teams
  • Contribute to workforce planning discussions, providing insights that support effective resource deployment across the region
  • Support with coordination of hiring approvals, role reviews, and early talent processes where applicable
  • Work with the HRBP to report on HR metrics and people KPIs, analyse trends, and provide practical recommendations
  • Maintain data accuracy, ensuring the integrity of HR systems and the quality of data used to guide business decisions
  • Contribute to regional or global HR initiatives, including culture, engagement, inclusion & diversity, learning programmes, and policy development
  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with partners, business leaders, and functional stakeholders across fee‑earning and GBS areas
  • Collaborate closely with wider HR teams—including Talent, Reward, People Services, and L&D—to deliver aligned and consistent HR support
  • Maintain working knowledge of employment legislation relevant to the region and demonstrate sound judgment in applying policy and legal principles
  • Provide timely policy advice and help ensure a consistent and compliant approach across the business
  • Stay up to date with external HR best practice and contribute ideas to continually improve HR service delivery

Requirements

  • Previous HR experience at Coordinator/Advisor level, ideally within a professional services or similarly fast‑paced, matrix environment
  • Solid understanding of HR processes, policy interpretation, and employment legislation within the region
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, solution‑focused, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks
  • Excellent written communication and report‑writing capability
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider HR team
  • High levels of discretion, integrity, and professionalism
  • Comfortable working with data, identifying trends, and turning insights into recommendations
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to operate in a global, evolving environment
