Job Description

Office Angels are proud to be working on behalf of a well-established manufacturing/engineering business to recruit an experienced HR Adviser. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where you will play a key role in delivering the HR strategy and supporting operational teams across a busy and fast-paced environment. The HR Adviser will act as the first point of contact for HR-related matters, providing expert guidance to managers and ensuring consistency in people management practices and compliance with employment legislation.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to Line Managers on a wide range of people matters
  • Ensure all HR activities are aligned with employment legislation, company policies, and best practice
  • Support and guide managers through disciplinary, grievance, and performance management processes
  • Assist with recruitment and selection, ensuring a high-quality and compliant process
  • Manage contracts and transitions for agency personnel
  • Provide guidance on maternity, paternity, and flexible working requests
  • Oversee the absence management process, ensuring a consistent approach across the business
  • Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and documentation
  • Produce HR metrics (MI reporting) and statistical analysis on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Support the implementation of HR strategy and contribute to ongoing HR projects
  • Promote and contribute to health & safety initiatives

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a HR Advisor
  • Strong understanding of UK Employment Law
  • Proven experience handling employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, performance)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
  • Discreet and professional with the ability to handle confidential information
  • IT Literate- CRM Systems, Excel and all Microsoft packages
  • A proactive team player with a flexible and approachable attitude

Nice to have

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar HR role
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience working within a unionised environment
