An opportunity to join our Head Office team based on the outskirts of Cardiff has arisen, working on site Monday – Friday; you’ll be a vital part of a vibrant and busy team! This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week, between the hours of 9am – 5.00pm or 9.30am - 5.30pm. As an HR Advisor you will play a crucial role in handling employee relations matters, supporting the wider businesses strategy when it comes to retention, performance evaluation. Being a successful Human Resources Advisor, means you will need to be committed to a varied and a role full of challenges every day. With the coaching and support of our HR Manager you will broaden your skills, be mentored on all things people related and get to collaborate with all areas of the business including operations and Head Office. You will get to meet new people, and be part of a multifaceted team including, Store Managers, Delivery Drivers, Instore Colleagues and the broader management team. Everyone is treated with respect and honesty, you’ll be providing high level advice on policy and procedure to ensure everyone is treated fairly across all branches of the business. You'll be working in a fast moving, high-energy environment where you will be expected to contribute to all departments within the business, with no two days the same - you'll have a great time doing it! The HR Advisor will report into the Human Resources Manager.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive advice and support to employees and managers in line with company policy and current UK employment legislation, in all aspects of employee relations to ensure minimal risk to the business and enhance the employee experience
  • Support the HR Manager with any HR meetings, including investigations, grievances, disciplinary and sickness absence, conducting meetings and acting as a company note taker
  • Collating reports and strategic data
  • Participate with HR projects such as development of new policies
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to HR activities
  • Support the strategic HR plans with the intention of a positive impact on business performance
  • Adhering to required ACAS timescales, setting appointments and rearranging meetings
  • Creating HR letters reports containing HR data to support business decisions
  • Provide HR training and coaching to line managers
  • Absence Management – AWOL, Short term and Long term sick. Offering case management advice
  • ER Case Work – Assisting in generating performance improvement plans, structuring probation reviews, guiding investigations fairly, handling sensitive disciplinaries, grievances, and appeals
  • Update the ER tracker with developments in cases
  • Answering telephone queries, monitoring the HR Inbox escalating any matters to the HR Manager

Requirements

  • High organisation skills
  • CIPD level 5 qualified
  • Industry relevant experience
  • Experience in handling complex Employee Relations cases
  • Strong Communication skills in challenging situations
  • Hardworking, reliable, IT literate able to perform under pressure
  • A proactive team player
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
