Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery. In this role, you will manage the full payroll cycle, collaborate closely with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders and act as a trusted point of contact for payroll-related matters. You will play a key role in audits, reporting to authorities, process improvements, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs regular daily operations leading to ensuring accurate and timely execution of Payroll: Consolidate payroll data from various sources
  • Submit payroll data to external service providers
  • Review calculation and work with provider on any necessary adjustments
  • Process the full monthly payroll cycle and weekly off-cycle transfers, including salaries, benefits, taxes and sick leave payments
  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with relevant laws and participate in annual audit and payroll-related audits
  • Create and deliver critical and complex process reports to Business and third parties (Tax Office, KSH, Social Security Office)
  • Assists internal customers and stakeholders and coordinates payroll activities
  • Manage employee’s payroll-related queries and escalations, and proactive communication on payroll legislative changes
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members, supporting their development and onboarding
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, proposing enhancements to internal practices and policies
  • Work with the appropriate systems and processes (Success Factor, myHR portal, systems of the payroll provider)
  • Act as backup for payroll colleagues as part of the team’s backup plan

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience and passion for payroll and payroll-related processes
  • Payroll and/or Social Security specific education is desirable
  • Knowledge of Nexon system
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
  • Solid understanding of Hungarian payroll legislation and reporting processes
  • Fluent in English, with an additional language considered an advantage
  • Strong communication, relationship building, consultancy, and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working in cross-cultural contexts with a collaborative approach
