Our government client is seeking an HR Advisor to join their team, with a focus on Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations (ER). You will act as a trusted advisor to line managers, assisting them to navigate case management and ensuring compliance with relevant legislative frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR practitioner looking to further develop their expertise in IR/ER, handle end-to-end case management, and interpret awards within a supportive, collaborative environment.
Job Responsibility
Case Management: Manage and resolve end-to-end ER matters including standard grievances, performance management, and fitness-for-work cases, escalating highly sensitive matters where appropriate
Advisory Services: Provide clear, accurate interpretation of Awards, Certified Agreements, and HR policies to managers and employees
IR Support: Contribute data, research, and insights to support industrial relations strategies and enterprise bargaining preparation
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a point of contact for stakeholders to assist in resolving workplace issues productively
Manager Capability: Support and guide line managers on best-practice people management to help mitigate industrial risks early
Requirements
Proven experience: solid experience in a generalist HR or HR Advisory role, with practical exposure to managing ER cases and interpreting industrial instruments
Sector knowledge: prior experience working within the Public Sector/Government is highly regarded but not essential
