Job Description:

HPE Nonstop Systems Engineer role focused on managing and upgrading HPE Nonstop Operating Systems, troubleshooting security settings, performing system maintenance, and supporting development lab operations in a hybrid work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and upgrade HPE Nonstop Operating Systems (OS), including SPRS via DSM/SCM
  • Troubleshoot Safeguard security settings and resolve disk file/volume rule issues
  • Perform cold loads of systems locally or remotely via NS Server console
  • Monitor and respond to OS-Ticket helpdesk requests
  • Install NSK software (Web Viewpoint, Viewpoint) and OSS software (GIT, TMF, SQL/MX, ITP Webserver, JDBC)
  • Add/delete user IDs and groups in Safeguard
  • clean up Guardian/OSS files
  • Resolve communication problems (FTP, Java, JDBC, Telnet, CLIM settings)
  • Upgrade firmware on CLIMs, re-image, and perform cold loads
  • Configure and manage storage CLIMs/IP CLIMs
  • add/remove storage and processors
  • Upgrade/downgrade Nonstop System firmware
  • Use NSSE to process RVU, RVU-R, and YSUT for Dev/QA systems
  • Install ISVs on SUT for Dev/QA testing with SYSGENs and SPRs
  • Run partial/full backups in coordination with FTC Lab Ops
  • Act as local contact for CRIS issues/tasks via Service-Now
  • Create QCOW/VMDK files for Dev/QA environments
  • Support Nonstop System Consoles (NSC) and apply monthly security patches
  • Fulfil role of Lab Security Manager (LSM) for Nonstop Development Lab
  • Serve as primary contact for Network Change Requests (NCR) with HPGIT via Service-Now
  • Install and deploy VMs on KVM and manage via vSphere

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of experience in system administration (preferably HPE Nonstop)
  • Expertise in Nonstop System Administration (hardware + software)
  • Familiarity with Nonstop NextGen, Blade, and Integrity Systems
  • Experience with Virtual Nonstop (vNS), VMware, KVM, and vSphere
  • Knowledge of core Nonstop products: SQL/MX, NSK, OSS, File System
  • Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with remote U.S. and local teams
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and multitask
  • Adaptability to changing environments and project schedules
