Job Description

AMD's Software and Solutions Team is seeking a HPC and AI Computational Scientist / Engineer to optimize scientific computing applications for AMD GPU platforms. This role requires strong foundational expertise in HPC application performance, GPU programming, and scientific simulation domains. As part of AMD's GENCI Center of Excellence (COE), the engineer will collaborate directly with customer teams across academia, industry, and research laboratories to modernize, port, and tune applications for supercomputing and AI-enabled workflows. The role spans testing, tuning, performance engineering, and full-stack optimization for large-scale HPC workloads on AMD architectures. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Paris, France.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, port, and optimize high-performance computing software and applications for use on AMD hardware
  • Work with other members of the COE team to collaboratively solve issues
  • Represent AMD to the customer and other third parties, and act as the customer advocate when presenting to AMD audiences
  • Engage with AMD product groups to drive resolution of customer issues
  • Develop and present training materials to internal audiences, at customer venues, and at industry conferences

Requirements

  • Strong experience in scientific computing disciplines, distributed-memory parallel programming, HPC profiling tools, GPU acceleration technologies, and HPC application modernisation
  • Familiarity with converged HPC/AI workflows and major AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Must be proficient in French and English communications
  • PhD in Computer Science, Computational Physics, Engineering or related subjects, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant HPC and/or AI GPU experience in research or industry
