Job Description:

Randstad has an excellent opportunity available for a Youth Housing Officer / Housing Team Leader to join an established and growing organisation supporting Youth Homelessness throughout Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will work on location in Downpatrick to lead and manage a team of Support Workers, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service that empowers young people leaving care to build the skills and confidence to maintain their own homes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage a team of Support Workers, providing formal and informal supervision
  • Develop, implement and review rotas to ensure consistency of care and team well-being
  • Participate in the management, planning and development of the Supported Housing Service
  • Ensure Child Protection, Safeguarding Adults and Lone Worker policies are strictly implemented
  • Manage service budgets effectively in partnership with the finance team
  • Promote team learning through regular meetings, reflective sessions and development plans
  • Maintain accurate records and databases in line with GDPR and statutory requirements
  • Advocate for the housing rights of young people and ensure they receive appropriate benefits

Requirements:

  • 3 years' experience of working with young people in supported housing or a similar environment OR a Degree in Social Work, Youth and Community Work or similar and 2 years' relevant experience
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team
  • A full, current driving license with access to a car insured for business use
  • Registration (or willingness to register) with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
  • Understanding of young people who have left care or have high support needs
  • Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role).
