Job Description:

We're looking for a motivated and compassionate Housing Support Worker to support young people aged 16-25, including care leavers, as they transition into independent living. This is not a care role, it's about practical guidance, emotional support, and empowering young people with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting young people to develop key life skills such as budgeting, managing benefits, and maintaining tenancies
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that provide stability and encouragement
  • Using your own interests (sports, music, art, fitness, etc.) to engage and inspire
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies
  • Managing your own caseload and maintaining accurate records

Requirements:

  • A natural ability to connect with young people, including those with trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse experiences
  • Confidence, resilience, and creativity in your approach
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Experience in youth work, housing, education, or similar fields (transferable skills welcomed!)
  • Safeguarding knowledge is beneficial but not essential
  • NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in a related field
