Job Description:

Are you passionate about helping young people build brighter futures? We're looking for a compassionate and proactive Housing Support Worker to support young people aged 16-25, including care leavers, as they move towards independent living. This is not a care role-it's hands?on, practical and emotional support to help young people gain confidence, stability, and essential life skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support young people with developing independence skills, including budgeting, managing benefits, and navigating housing options
  • Build trusting, non-judgmental relationships, providing stability and encouragement
  • Bring your own interests-music, art, sports, or other passions-to connect and engage
  • Work with colleagues and external partners to ensure each young person gets the right support
  • Manage a caseload and keep clear, accurate records

Requirements:

  • Someone who relates easily to young people, including those with experience of trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse
  • Confidence engaging young people creatively and actively
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Experience from youth work, housing, education, or similar roles (transferable skills welcome)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding or support planning is helpful but not essential
