We are currently recruiting for a Housing Solutions Officer to join a dynamic Triage Team within a busy Homelessness Prevention & Assessment service in West London. This is part of an innovative pilot focused on improving early intervention and customer experience for residents approaching the service as homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Job Responsibility:
Act as the first point of contact for new homelessness approaches
Respond to enquiries via phone lines, inboxes (including duty to refer and reviews), and face-to-face reception (rota-based)
Conduct initial triage assessments to determine the appropriate housing pathway
Provide clear advice to applicants on homelessness processes and next steps
Support residents in preparing for their homelessness assessment
Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure efficient case progression
Requirements:
Strong working knowledge of homelessness legislation and duties
Experience in housing options, homelessness prevention, or a similar frontline role
Ability to assess cases quickly and make sound decisions under pressure
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proactive and organised approach to managing a busy workload
