We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Extra Care Scheme Housing Officer to support residents within an Extra Care housing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring residents can maintain their independence while living in a safe, well-managed, and supportive community. This is a varied role involving tenancy management, resident support, safeguarding, and partnership working with care providers and external agencies.
Job Responsibility:
Manage tenancy sign-ups, tenancy sustainment, and resident onboarding
Conduct regular welfare and scheme visits to residents
Support residents with Housing Benefit and other tenancy-related matters
Monitor rent accounts and proactively manage arrears cases
Liaise with appointees, deputies, family members, and support agencies where appropriate
Respond to and escalate repair and maintenance issues
Manage Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) cases in line with policies and procedures
Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and resident wellbeing
Work closely with care providers, contractors, and partner agencies to deliver a high-quality service
Support void management processes, ensuring empty properties are ready to let quickly and efficiently
Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are maintained across the scheme
Requirements:
Previous experience within housing management, supported housing, or extra care housing
Knowledge of Housing Benefit, tenancy management, and safeguarding procedures
Experience managing rent arrears, ASB, and resident support cases
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
Flexible, proactive, and resident-focused approach
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required)
