Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Extra Care Scheme Housing Officer to support residents within an Extra Care housing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring residents can maintain their independence while living in a safe, well-managed, and supportive community. This is a varied role involving tenancy management, resident support, safeguarding, and partnership working with care providers and external agencies.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage tenancy sign-ups, tenancy sustainment, and resident onboarding
  • Conduct regular welfare and scheme visits to residents
  • Support residents with Housing Benefit and other tenancy-related matters
  • Monitor rent accounts and proactively manage arrears cases
  • Liaise with appointees, deputies, family members, and support agencies where appropriate
  • Respond to and escalate repair and maintenance issues
  • Manage Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) cases in line with policies and procedures
  • Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and resident wellbeing
  • Work closely with care providers, contractors, and partner agencies to deliver a high-quality service
  • Support void management processes, ensuring empty properties are ready to let quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are maintained across the scheme

Requirements

  • Previous experience within housing management, supported housing, or extra care housing
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit, tenancy management, and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience managing rent arrears, ASB, and resident support cases
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
  • Flexible, proactive, and resident-focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required)
