Job Description:

A leading UK law firm with offices located throughout the country, are looking for a Housing Management/Property Litigation paralegal. The role is permanent, and is based in the Birmingham office.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing advice and assistance to Registered Providers of Social Housing and private landlords in a broad range of matters, including possession proceedings based on rent arrears, breach of tenancy, anti-social behaviour and unauthorised occupiers, injunction proceedings, disrepair claims and claims against leaseholders including forfeiture
  • drafting and preparing claim forms
  • preparing trial bundles
  • liaising with Court prior to trial
  • assisting with general paralegal and administrative tasks in an effective and timely manner

Requirements:

  • Excellent academics, including a good law degree (minimum 2:2) or GDL
  • successful or near completion of the LPC (preferred)
  • excellent IT and organisational skills
  • knowledge of Document Management Systems is preferable
  • prior experience as a paralegal within a similar role
  • exposure to housing management and/or property litigation is highly advantageous
  • working with RPs/private landlords and the County Court
  • applicants currently reside in the Birmingham area and can commute to the City with ease
