Job Description:

The City of Chandler Neighborhood Resources Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Housing and Redevelopment Senior Manager [PHA Director]. The position is scheduled to work 5 days, 8 hours. This is more than a management role — it is an opportunity to shape housing stability and opportunity in Chandler. The role is ideal for a collaborative professional who is passionate about public service, experienced in housing program administration, and committed to expanding opportunity for the individuals and families we serve.

Job Responsibility:

  • Shape housing stability and opportunity in Chandler
  • Administer housing programs that improve client opportunity and long-term success
  • Manage the City of Chandler Public Housing Authority
  • Manage site-based and scattered site public housing units, the Housing Choice Voucher program, Veterans Affairs Supporting Housing (VASH) Vouchers and Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)
  • Oversee conversion of public housing sites under the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Social Work or related field
  • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in public housing administration, to include management and policy development experience
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

Nice to have:

  • Certification as a Public Housing Manager (PHM) or Housing Choice Voucher Executive Manager (HCVEM) through a HUD-recognized program
  • Experience with mixed-finance development, RAD conversions, or other innovative housing strategies
  • Experience working within a municipal government structure and familiarity with local government budgeting, procurement, and administrative processes
  • Familiarity with local housing market conditions and social service organizations
