Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working Houseman to join our team at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa! This role is vital in supporting our room attendants and responding promptly to guest calls, ensuring exceptional service and a seamless guest experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist room attendants with tasks to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms and public areas
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and calls
  • Handle laundry tasks, including the proper use of laundry chemicals and formulas, while understanding their effects on various types of linen
  • Prioritize and organize workload efficiently
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, or pulling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods
  • Lift bundles of linen weighing up to 75 lbs and push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 200 lbs

Requirements:

  • Basic ability to comprehend and communicate in English to understand safety labels, instructions, and guest requests
  • Working knowledge of laundry chemicals and their application is preferred
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential job functions
  • High School diploma preferred but not required
  • Laundry experience is a plus but not mandatory
  • No licenses or certificates required
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards provided)
