The Housekeeping Team Member is responsible for maintaining a clean spa facility and premises on a daily basis. The Housekeeping team member is responsible for conforming to THE WOODHOUSE standards as set forth in the Team Member Handbook and Operations Manual, and will strive each day to exceed our guest’s expectations.
Job Responsibility:
A thorough sweeping and/or vacuuming of the floors on a daily basis. Attention should be given to corners, baseboards, thresholds, and stairways.
Periodically, pot plants and any other items, which are placed on the floors, should be moved and cleaned underneath. Check to be sure that no water has leaked from pot plants to the floor.
Mop the floors daily. A suitable disinfectant should be added to the mop water in order to eliminate odors and bacteria especially around pedicure chairs, tubs, showers, restrooms, and the kitchen area. Use common sense to allow the floor adequate drying time prior to the time other team members and guests enter the spa. It is important for the spa to smell fresh. Each morning it is recommended to check for freshness when entering the spa. If unpleasant odors or lack of freshness is present, take the appropriate action.
The following areas should be cleaned and sanitized daily: sinks, tubs, restrooms, showers, steam rooms, sauna, and treatment rooms. Allow these areas to remain open to good ventilation so that they can dry thoroughly while the spa is closed to the public.
Replenish hand paper towels, toilet tissue, and hand soap in dispensers daily.
All countertops and mirrors should be inspected and cleaned daily. Also, check the front door glass for smudges periodically.
Dusting of the product shelves and display cases should be daily in order to keep the spa fresh in appearance. Dust blinds weekly.
Dishes and other utensils should be placed in the dishwasher and washed daily. Never allow unclean dishes, or other containers with food, to remain in the open, especially overnight. The clean dishes should be unloaded at the start of each day and stored in a cabinet.
Clean the coffee pot or other serving containers daily.
Remove any plants and flowers from the spa that are not fresh.
Empty all waste receptacles and trashcans from the inside of the spa daily, or when necessary to avoid odors from collecting. Keep the trash receptacles clean and fresh. Occasionally sanitize and spray with a pleasant deodorant.
Keep any outside porches, steps, access ways, and walkways around the spa clean and orderly. Wash or otherwise clean these areas when needed.
Inspect and clean as necessary the following: windows, chandeliers, and the water wall. Use a quality glass cleaner product. Inspect walls, ceiling and lighting fixtures for cobwebs.
THE WOODHOUSE Spa sign should be wiped clean with a damp cloth as needed.
