This position provides housekeeping support services to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions as required by Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
Job Responsibility:
Provides routine, repetitive housekeeping tasks and duties to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions
Maintains cleanliness and orderly resident rooms and buildings
Ensures adequate amounts of paper towels, toilet paper and soap
Collaborates with the Activity Department for group activities by providing clean-up of garbage
Reports supply shortages and equipment problems or repairs needed to the supervisor
Completes simple, written reports, log sheets, and compliance checklists
Assists in the training of other workers
Performs other duties as required or assigned
Requirements:
Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school
Six (6) months experience in the housekeeping field
Ability to meet all agency vaccine/health related policies and guidance
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical
Ability to acquire and maintain a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
Ability to work with various types of cleaning equipment and a variety of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and solutions
Ability to stand, stoop, twist, and bend for the duration of the shift
Ability to lift no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work overtime including evenings and weekends
