Housekeeping support service worker

• Provides routine, repetitive housekeeping tasks and duties to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions required by Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs
• Maintains cleanliness and orderly resident rooms and buildings
• Collaborates with the Activity Department for group activities by providing the clean-up of garbage from the activities on the units and as directed by the supervisor for facility events
• Promptly reports supply shortages and equipment problems or repairs needed to the supervisor
• Assists in the training of other workers and discusses expectations and progress with the supervisor
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

• Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school SUPPLEMENTED by six (6) months experience in housekeeping related support service
• Ability to meet all agency vaccine/health related policies and guidance
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical
• Ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
• Ability to work with various types of cleaning equipment and a variety of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and solutions
• Ability to stand, stoop, twist, and bend for the duration of the shift, aside from official breaks and lunch period
• Ability to lift no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work overtime including evenings and weekends
