The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, quality, and readiness of guest rooms and public areas. This role oversees daily housekeeping operations, inspects work completed by room attendants, resolves room discrepancies, coordinates with other departments, and ensures smooth communication across shifts. The Supervisor supports the Housekeeping Manager in leading the team to uphold brand standards and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Job Responsibility:
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pools, and all assigned areas after cleaning to ensure they meet quality and brand standards
Review sold room reports, verify room status, identify and resolve discrepant rooms, prioritize cleaning schedules, and update departure room status
Assist Housekeeping Management in overseeing daily operations and act as a liaison with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to coordinate workflow
Document, report, and resolve room discrepancies and maintenance issues
prepare and distribute updated room assignments
Communicate shift handover updates, complete required reports, and ensure operational continuity between shifts
Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating staff
serve as a role model and support team performance
Follow all safety, security, and company policies
report maintenance issues, hazards, injuries, or accidents promptly
Maintain professional appearance, ensure confidentiality of information, and protect company assets
Deliver guest service according to company standards, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally with colleagues and guests
Support team relationships through effective communication, active listening, and problem resolution
Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 55 lbs (with assistance for heavier items), pushing/pulling carts, and working on uneven surfaces
Stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods as required to support hotel operations
Enter and update information in computer systems accurately
visually verify documents and room information
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by Supervisors.
Requirements:
Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role
Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, housekeeping standards, and room inspection processes
Familiarity with housekeeping systems, PMS (e.g., Opera), and basic computer applications
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and maintain strong interdepartmental coordination
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have legal working rights in Fiji.
