Job Description:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing the proper and smooth operation of the Housekeeping department to ensure the highest quality in cleanliness and service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, coaching, discipline and conducting performance appraisals for direct reports
  • Responsible for creating schedules and approving employees time, time off and shift changes
  • Assign, train, support and direct the staff to carry out the basic operation of their roles
  • Coach, develop and provide feedback to the staff for the continued growth in their current and future positions
  • Review work procedures and operational opportunities to determine ways to improve processes, performance, and service
  • Establish new standards to provide the guests the highest quality of service
  • Responsible for the financial success of the housekeeping operation, including cash payroll, expenses, operating equipment, and supplies
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation needs, tasks and communication within the Housekeeping department

Requirements:

  • Supervising experience required
  • Experience in the hospitality industry required, preferably in the Housekeeping department
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge with a Hotel Property Management System required

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote experience desirable
  • Infor experience desirable

  • Conduct inductions and training for new staff, identify development needs, and provide face-to-face training for new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct safety briefings, and maintain up-to-date COSHH documentation
  • Arrange additional staffing and cleaning support during holiday periods
  • Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and address performance issues constructively
  • Manage the departmental budget, including termly reforecasting, cost control, and procurement
  • Produce payroll records and overtime claims in a timely manner
  • Work closely with HR to manage staff absences and attend review meetings where required
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best value for goods and services
