Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and hard-working individuals to join our Emergency Department team as a Housekeeper. Our Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit is a busy, fast-paced environment, caring for children up to 16 years old with acute medical needs and/or injuries. The Housekeeper role is vital to the smooth running of the department, supporting the nursing team with essential non-clinical tasks.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness across patient and non-patient areas
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, ordering supplies as required
  • Collect and deliver pharmacy items and patient food/snack boxes
  • Provide patients with drinks and snacks as requested
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support excellent patient care
  • Liaise with Estates and Facilities teams to coordinate services and resolve issues promptly
  • Monitor quality standards, report deficiencies, and take appropriate action
  • Adapt the environment to meet diverse and special needs in partnership with staff and families
  • Support clinical teams in a non-clinical capacity to enhance patient experience
  • Carry out specific tasks for individual patient needs as directed by the nurse in charge

Requirements:

  • Must undertake training of the post
  • Functional English and maths qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in customer care
  • To have good communication skills: verbal and written
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the post
  • Commitment to: Caring environment. Safe working
  • Enthusiastic, approachable and friendly
  • Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and independently
  • Motivated to undertake further training
