Job Responsibility:

  • maintain a safe, clean, sanitary and comfortable environment
  • promote and support a resident centered care environment with kindness, respect, and dignity
  • adhere to all facility and department work rules, policies and procedures
  • ensure that resident rooms and public areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner
  • follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
  • follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants and solutions used for cleaning
  • use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials

Requirements:

  • high school diploma or GED or 1 year of previous job experience in lieu of HS diploma or GED
  • at least one year of housekeeping duties experience preferred
  • ability to follow established safety procedures
  • capability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
  • willingness to work in a resident care environment with exposure to potential unpleasant odors and infectious materials
  • ability to handle physically demanding tasks
  • commitment to upholding resident dignity and facility policies
  • ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
