Housekeeper

• Serves as Housekeeper for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired
• Directs and instructs student workers in a student work program in the methods and procedures of housekeeping
• Requisitions necessary housekeeping supplies in a timely manner and maintains security of supplies and equipment
• Makes beds and changes soiled linens
• Monitors and reports necessary work orders for assigned areas
• Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School
• supplemented by six (6) months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned
• Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs and perform heavy physical work
• Must meet Illinois School for the Visually Impaired health and safety requirements
• Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law
