Job Description:

In the role of Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the Community interior, including residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary fashion and in a courteous and friendly manner.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintaining the Community interior, including residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary fashion
  • Providing general housekeeping for both the Community as a whole and individual resident apartments
  • Vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning the main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios, and resident apartments
  • Cleaning and defrost refrigerators
  • Cleaning and checking heat system filters
  • Changing the bed and linens
  • Ensuring adequate linen supplies in each apartment
  • Turning mattress as necessary
  • Emptying waste baskets
  • Providing deep cleaning of apartments as needed
  • Paying special attention to the main entry area, focusing on carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures
  • Laundering all linens
  • Following Company sanitation and safety procedures
  • Greeting residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, and/or soups/salads from the cart
  • Reviewing the menu of the meal, taking resident orders, and serving meals and desserts
  • Returning cart to the kitchen and assisting with storage of perishable items
  • Delivering trays to resident rooms if needed
  • Busing and clearing dishes from tables after meals and resetting for the next meal
  • Vacuuming carpets
  • Completing side work

Requirements:

  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
  • General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills
