Job Description:

In the role of Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the Community interior, including residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary fashion and in a courteous and friendly manner.

Job Responsibility:

Maintaining the Community interior, including residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary fashion
Providing general housekeeping for both the Community as a whole and individual resident apartments, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning common areas, dining room, hallways, patios, and resident apartments
Cleaning and defrosting refrigerators (as needed), cleaning and checking heat system filters, changing the bed and linens, and ensuring adequate linen supplies in each apartment
Turning mattress (with assistance) as necessary and emptying waste baskets
Providing deep cleaning of apartments as needed
Paying special attention to the main entry area, focusing on carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures
Laundering all linens by washing and drying in the laundry facilities provided
Following Company sanitation and safety procedures
Greeting residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, and/or soups/salads from the cart
Courteously and clearly reviewing the menu of the meal, taking resident orders, and serving meals and desserts
Returning cart to the kitchen and assisting with storage of perishable items
Delivering trays to resident rooms if needed
Bussing and clearing dishes from tables after meals and resetting for the next meal following proper sanitizing procedures
Vacuuming carpets
Completing side work – filling sugar holders, replenishing creamers, cleaning coffeemaker, etc.

Requirements:

Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time)
Strong organization and time management skills
Basic computer skills
