Job Description:

Part-Time Housekeeper – Life Guidance position in Walnut Creek, CA. Involves cleaning public areas and resident apartments, performing laundry duties, and serving as a server during meals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Clean public areas and resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas
  • Perform all housekeeping duties, including but not limited to: Distributing laundered articles and linens, Changing beds, Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed, Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors
  • cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, Dusting furniture and equipment, Polishing metalwork, Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • Perform all laundry duties, including but not limited to: Washing, drying, and ironing resident laundry and community linens and textiles in provided appliances, Folding and/or hanging laundry appropriately, Distributing laundered articles and linens, Changing bedding
  • Maintain resident laundry areas, including mopping floors and washing walls regularly
  • Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested
  • Keep utility and storage rooms locked and in clean and orderly condition at all times
  • Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies
  • Stock cleaning cart with supplies
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the proper disposal area(s)
  • Work with Maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean
  • Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly to Supervisor
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned
  • Greet residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, and/or soups/salads
  • Courteously and clearly review the menu of the meal, take resident orders, and serve meals and desserts
  • Assist with storage of perishable items. If needed, deliver trays to resident rooms
  • Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals and reset for the next meal following proper sanitizing procedures for tables and chairs as outlined in the Food Service Guidelines. Vacuum carpets, etc.
  • Complete side work – fill sugar holders, replenish creamers, clean coffeemaker, etc.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned

Requirements:

  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
  • General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must successfully complete all Atria-specified training programs, including Serve Safe Certification
  • Able to operate cleaning equipment such as: iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
  • Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed and arrive to work on time

  • Investigates delinquent accounts and other insurance issues by reviewing benefits, contacting insurance companies, as well as communicating with third-party administrators and occasionally customers. Reconciles all outstanding claims and third party rejects in a timely manner.
  • Processes new patient data entry and/or automatic refill in a timely manner. Performs inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and managing recalls and returns. Maintains adequate stock to meet the demand of the pharmacy.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
