Job Description:

We’re seeking a polished, proactive Sales & Catering Manager with deep knowledge of the New York market and a track record of driving revenue in luxury hotels. You will prospect, close, and service group and catering business while partnering cross-functionally to deliver flawless events and guest experiences.

Job Responsibility:

  • Proactively source, qualify, and convert new group and catering business within the NYC market
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, site inspections, proposals, negotiations, contracting, and handoff to operations
  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships, account plans, and market intelligence
  • Partner with Culinary, Banquets, Rooms, and Finance to ensure seamless execution of events and accurate forecasting
  • Prepare detailed BEOs, function resumes, and internal communications that set teams up for success
  • Analyze business mix, pace, and profitability
  • make data-driven recommendations to optimize revenue
  • Uphold brand standards and service excellence consistent with a luxury environment

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in a Sales or Catering office within luxury hotels
  • Local 6 union experience required
  • comfortable operating within unionized hotel environments
  • Strong knowledge of the New York market with proven prospecting and closing ability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality (or related field) preferred
  • Computer literate with excellent Microsoft Office and internet skills
  • Delphi knowledge is a plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional presence, high energy, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
