Job Description

The Marriott Westchase Hotel is looking for a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Gift Shop Associate/Coffee Barista. The Gift Shop Attendant is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming greeting as guests arrive to grab their favorite Starbucks coffee and snack or pick up a souvenir while here. As the retail associate, you are responsible for generating revenue and sales transactions through excellent product knowledge and guest service, as well as maintaining a fun, clean, and comfortable store environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Greet customers when they enter the shop and serve guests beverages and/or food while assisting guests in locating needed merchandise, promoting and upselling additional items to enhance profitability
  • Crafting high-quality Starbucks coffee and beverage items to recipe standards
  • Display merchandise in a neat, eye-appealing manner
  • Restock items as necessary
  • Complete customer purchases using the POS system, processing all payment types
  • Maintain appropriate cash levels in cash drawer, turn in all property monies and receipts, and ensure deposits/cash drops are verified
  • Secure shop and monitor customer activity to prevent losses due to merchandise theft and damage

Requirements

  • Open to work varying hours, days or shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous Retail, Starbucks, or other Food Service Experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills: ability to use POS systems and technology equipment as directed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow a multi-step process in a timely manner
  • An engaging and welcoming personality who enjoys greeting every guest with a smile
  • Knows how to anticipate and address guests’ needs with a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
  • Able to succeed in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role independently
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift with frequent bending, push/pull, and lift/carrying of up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting/carrying of up to 50 lbs.
  • Observe Health Department guidelines for food handling and sanitation
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate is required
