Job Description:

Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport is looking for an Engineering Manager. As Engineering Manager, you are part of an ambitious and driven management team and are responsible for the Engineering team. Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport is a welcoming place, where guests find uncomplicated experiences in a casual atmosphere. Our hotel has 330 rooms, 6 spacious meeting places and an inviting restaurant. We welcome guests from all over the world, whether for business, group travel or leisure.

Job Responsibility:

  • You are responsible for managing the Engineering team by conducting performance reviews, developing skills and abilities through appropriate training and coaching supporting both personal and professional goals.
  • You will focus on the daily maintenance of all areas as well as preventive maintenance to ensure guests enjoy the utmost comfort during their stay.
  • You will locate technical failures and ensure they are solved.
  • You will conduct inspection rounds in the hotel.
  • You will contact third parties in case of failures, which cannot be solved by the team.
  • You will operate and ensure the proper functioning of the BMS (Gebouwbeheerssysteem).
  • You make sure the Engineers are scheduled according to the business demands
  • You are responsible for all the hotel licenses & certificates (such as Green Globe and GBAC STAR Facility).
  • You take care of all the administrative tasks related to the Engineering department.
  • You are responsible for creating and adapting security plans and protocols.
  • You will start tenders and invite companies to bid for maintenance contracts and will make a recommendation for the best options.
  • You will implement measurements to reduce the carbon footprint of the hotel.

Requirements:

  • You have great language skills in English and Dutch
  • You have technical insight and affinity with repair work
  • You are a problem solver
  • ready to assist front and back of house colleagues with handling difficult situations such as aggression, complaints etc.
  • You have leadership skills such as strong communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • You have a year work experience in preferably a similar position
  • You have a BHV certificate (Emergency Response)
  • You have a SVH Certificate (Social Responsibility)
  • You have a hospitality background
