Expected to repair, maintain, install and monitor Hotel Electrical Equipment and Machinery throughout the hotel and respond to emergency requests promptly.
Job Responsibility
Keep all Hotel Electrical equipment in good state of repair with minimum downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance
Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures
Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments and fellow staff
Be prepared to work night shift
Produce and maintain sound electrical connections to minimize the probability of failure and maximize usability of electricity in all facilities
Assemble and install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment
Get a good understanding of other services apart from those within your trade
Promptly update the job card system once work is completed
Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units
To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency
Routinely inspect electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances to Identify faults or hazards before they become costly breakdowns
Troubleshooting system failures and complete root cause analysis
Providing suggestions for electrical equipment replacement
Follow set out maintenance programs to prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning DBs and ensure all connections are sound
Conduct inspection tours to ensure that electrical equipment and lighting is working properly
Complete the preventative maintenance schedule and technical reports as and when required
Requirements
Minimum 5 O level subjects including Mathematics and English
Class 1 Electrician Certificate from a recognized college
A Higher National Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering is an added advantage
Full Apprenticeship training is an added advantage
Profound knowledge of local electrical standards and IEE regulations
Minimum 3 years experience post training
Having experience in a similar position and industry is an added advantage
Computer literacy is a must as you shall be required to use computerised maintenance programs

A Higher National Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering
