The host/hostess is the first to greet guests with courtesy and a smile, creating a positive first impression of the restaurant and bar. They are responsible for managing reservations, knowing the menus, and organizing the service areas. The host/hostess is also expected to recognize regular guests and have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Job Responsibility
Greet and seat guests while managing reservations in line with Four Seasons standards
Handle guest requests, anticipate needs, and provide personalized service
Organize the host stand, oversee seating plans, and ensure balanced station assignments
Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant and hotel services
Maintain menu quality and stay fully informed on daily specials and menu offerings
Collaborate with other departments and promptly report any incidents or special requests to management
Requirements
Good communication skills in French, both oral and written
An intermediate level of English is required to provide professional service to international customers, understand their specific requests, and respond effectively
Strong customer service experience with superior interpersonal skills, professionalism, and discretion
Knowledge of food and beverage operations, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
experience with OpenTable is an asset
Previous experience in luxury hospitality or restaurant settings is a plus
ability to stand for extended periods
