Job Description:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry and explore various facets of Club Operations. The intern will develop a strong understanding of the day-to-day operations that contribute to a positive guest and member experience. During this internship, the Accounting Intern will develop analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills while learning accounting best practices specific to hospitality and club management. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls while working closely with the Accounting and Finance team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work in high volume situations
  • Attend all required staff meetings, intern classes, and assigned rotations
  • Deliver final case study presentation to management team
  • Work with team members to ensure cleanliness, quality, and efficiency across all areas
  • Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship opportunities

  • Gain hands-on experience supporting daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Work closely with the Accounting and Finance team
  • Assisting with daily accounting operations that could include accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Learning and supporting month-end closing processes
  • Assisting with member charges and answer member emails/phone calls
  • Assisting with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Supporting reconciliations of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and member accounts
  • Understanding internal controls and accounting procedures within a private club setting
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assisting with audits and financial reviews as needed
  • Work closely with all members of the Accounting department
  • Shadow the Senior Staff Accountant, Controller, and other finance leaders
  • Attend a variety of different classes throughout the 12 weeks
  • Complete a final project and present to a group of managers

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a hospitality program at an accredited college/university
  • Some customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with others required
