The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is recruiting for a dedicated Hospitality Assistant to join our friendly team at Solihull Retirement Village. At ExtraCare, we are committed to our mission of "better lives for older people." While this role sits within our Hospitality team, this specific vacancy is designed for someone who thrives in the heart of the kitchen. We are looking for a team player who is happy to roll up their sleeves and ensure our culinary operations run smoothly.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all kitchen and food prep areas
  • Managing the pot wash station, ensuring all equipment, cutlery, and crockery are sparkling and ready for service
  • Assisting our culinary team with basic food prep and ensuring the chefs have the tools they need, exactly when they need them
  • Helping with deliveries and keeping storage areas tidy
  • Supporting front-of-house when required, including clearing tables and ensuring hospitality areas are presentable

Requirements

  • You are happy to focus on cleaning, washing up, and supporting the back-of-house team
  • A team player who can work effectively with chefs and front-of-house staff
  • Someone our residents and team can count on
  • While this role is kitchen-focused, you are comfortable stepping into customer-facing areas when the village is busy
  • Experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is an advantage
