Specialty care APPs provide concentrated services within Hospital Medicine, delivering comprehensive care to acute and chronically ill adult inpatients during overnight coverage.
Job Responsibility:
Performing initial and ongoing medical histories and physical examinations
Completing daily clinical assessments
Documenting findings and plans of care in the medical record
Ordering and interpreting laboratory and radiologic studies
Determining treatment plans
Writing prescriptions
Administering medications
Performing minor procedures as appropriate
Collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
Exercising sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Advocating for the patient population served
Participating in departmental or practice initiatives and meetings as requested
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited NP (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) or PA program
Current license to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina
Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license
BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) — must be valid at least 90 days beyond start date
