Job Description:

Specialty care APPs provide concentrated services within Hospital Medicine, delivering comprehensive care to acute and chronically ill adult inpatients during overnight coverage.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing initial and ongoing medical histories and physical examinations
  • Completing daily clinical assessments
  • Documenting findings and plans of care in the medical record
  • Ordering and interpreting laboratory and radiologic studies
  • Determining treatment plans
  • Writing prescriptions
  • Administering medications
  • Performing minor procedures as appropriate
  • Collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
  • Exercising sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Advocating for the patient population served
  • Participating in departmental or practice initiatives and meetings as requested

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited NP (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) or PA program
  • Current license to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina
  • Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) — must be valid at least 90 days beyond start date
