Job Description:

Alamo Hospice is hiring a Volunteer Coordinator to support their Boerne and Kerrville office. Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement Volunteer Training Program
  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Develop and maintain volunteer retention programs
  • Assures compliance with all regulatory issues related to volunteers
  • Develop programs that maximize the use of volunteers in both clinical and administrative services
  • Assumes other duties as developed by the Director of Operations
  • Assists in the recruitment, training and development of all volunteer programs as needed

Requirements:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to speak before groups with sensitivity and compassion
  • Significant group organizational experience
  • Volunteer experience desired, particular in recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers
  • Knowledge of hospice
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Demonstrates excellent observation, problem solving, verbal and written communications
  • Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload independently
