Registered Nurse - Current Illinois RN license
A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles
Current CPR
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Minimum 1 year of experience
Earn 10.0 continuing education credits annually

Good oral and written communication skills
Computer skills
Good time management and organizational skills

Job Responsibility

Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum
Incorporates the concepts of responsibility, accountability, clinical decision-making, authority, shared governance, and critical thinking in daily nursing practice
Provides individualized care to promote physical and psychosocial comfort
Utilizes principles of optimum pain assessment and management
Assesses patient and family readiness and involves them in planning and implementing care
Incorporates an individualized, holistic approach in the plan of care
Assesses by gathering and appraising data to focus on age appropriate patient needs
Continually evaluates patients’ and significant others’ response to interventions and appropriately modifies plan of care
Collaborates with physicians and/or other health care professionals in developing relationships, plans of care and age specific strategies
Supports patient’s decision to question, refuse, or terminate treatment

Associate’s degree in business management or other related field or equivalent work experience
Two years data entry experience
Previous billing and computer experience, preferably in home health or hospice setting
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Must have the ability to meet the public and staff as a positive, friendly and professional representative of the hospice
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Word and Excel

Job Responsibility

Manage all administrative and organizational functions of a hospice agency office including supervise reception, supply coordinators, and other staff assigned
May be required to supervise assigned personnel including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, conducting regular 1:1s, evaluating, training, mentoring, scheduling and assigning tasks
Ensure that office personnel perform their duties as they pertain to office responsibilities, IDT and billing responsibilities
Order and maintain accurate records of medical equipment and supplies
Responsible for informing staff of any changes, updates, etc., regarding admissions
discharges, visits, schedules
and clinical meetings as directed by the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services and/or Administrator
Responsible for assisting with audits of patient information
Inputs data into computer for billing purposes
Tracks admission, discharge, IDTs, certification and re-certification dates on all patients
