Job Description

Hospice Nurses (RN) provide care for terminally ill patients. They work with patients, their families and other healthcare professionals during the final stages of life.

Job Responsibility

  • Assess a patient's situation, as well as detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and will need to know when action is necessary
  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs and subtle changes in a patient's health
  • Remain sympathetic to a patient's needs, and be able to deal with people in various states of pain, trauma and tragedy
  • Alleviate sudden symptoms of the disease’s end phase
  • Help relatives cope with the upcoming loss and provide post-mortem support

Requirements

  • Active RN License
  • Degree from accredited nursing program
  • BLS Certifications
  • Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Hospice setting
  • Other requirements to be determined by our client facility
