Job Description:

We're delighted to be recruiting for a Homeowner Services Officer to join our exciting Specialist Residential Services team, based in our Bracknell or Eastleigh office. Your main purpose will be to manage a portfolio of leasehold, freehold and shared ownership properties, taking full responsibility for leasehold management and providing specialist advice to our customers both internally and externally. You will confidently lead on the scrutinising and management of service charge enquiries, investigating and remedying lease breaches, handling lease extension claims alongside our legal teams and acting as a point of contact for other lease specific enquiries and processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a portfolio of leasehold, freehold and shared ownership properties
  • Take full responsibility for leasehold management
  • Provide specialist advice to customers both internally and externally
  • Confidently lead on scrutinising and management of service charge enquiries
  • Investigate and remedy lease breaches
  • Handle lease extension claims alongside legal teams
  • Act as a point of contact for other lease specific enquiries and processes

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in both leasehold and shared ownership products
  • Understanding of legislation affecting these customers (Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, Landlord and Tenant Act, Building Safety Act 2022)
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of applying Leasehold law relating to assignments, consents, enfranchisement, lease extensions, breach of covenants and service charges
  • Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and challenging behavior and situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to use initiative to problem solve
